Brush Collection & Drop-Off

The Town of Ithaca Public Works Department picks up yard waste (brush, leaves, garden waste, pine needles, ornamental grass, grass clippings, etc.) in mid-April and in mid-October. Please refer to the Town’s newsletter or Home page of the website for specific dates.

The Public Works Department will pick up brush and limbs, starting mid-April and mid-October, and will continue throughout the Town until finished. All yard waste must be at the roadside by 7 a.m. on the first day of collection.  There will be no second collection and no callbacks.

Errant yard debris (brush, leaves) can wreak havoc on storm water systems and create hazardous conditions. Debris you collect before the first day of the collection must remain out of rights-of-way until a week before the collection.

Town of Ithaca and Village of Cayuga Heights residents may drop their yard waste (brush, leaves, garden/yard debris) at the Public Works facility at 114 Seven Mile Dr., Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. year-round.  Please sign in at the office.
