The Town of Ithaca would like to welcome the public to an open house meeting on the Trumansburg Road/NYS Route 96 Pedestrian Corridor Study project on Wednesday, September 18th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Museum of the Earth (Ray Van Houtte Classroom), located at 1259 Trumansburg Road (NYS Route 96).  Please join us to provide input on the improvement options for the corridor, including sidewalk concepts, locations for new sidewalks, crosswalks and bus shelters.

This study is being coordinated by the Town of Ithaca with funding assistance from the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).  Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C is the project consultant responsible for undertaking the study and developing plan recommendations and they will be available to discuss the project at the September 18th meeting.

The Town of Ithaca is conducting this study to improve pedestrian accessibility along Trumansburg Road/Route 96 within a 1.3-mile study corridor stretching from the City of Ithaca (Cliff Street) northerly past Cayuga Medical Center to Hayts Road.  The goal of this study is to identify potential sidewalk routes and potential connections to the City of Ithaca sidewalk system and/or the NYS Parks Black Diamond Trail, and then, prioritize necessary pedestrian improvements.
